Case study

Matt’s Critter Care

A local service site for an in-home pet sitter — a business growing fast offline with nothing online to match it.

Client

Matt’s Critter Care provides in-home pet sitting, dog walking and overnight care in Jacksonville, Florida. One sitter, working solo, by design.

Situation

Matt came to us on a referral from another client. He was starting a business rather than replacing a website, and it was already growing faster than anything a customer could find: services in his head, a name he liked, and nothing at all to read or book.

Problem

Pet sitting compounds the problem: it is a trade nobody hires without first deciding they trust you, and trust is difficult to establish when the only thing a stranger can see is a phone number.

Approach

Work out the one question the customer is actually asking. For in-home pet care it is not what it costs — it is who is coming into my home.

That came out of a study of Jacksonville pet owners, and so did the rest: the type, the color and the layout were built around what the business actually is, which is warm, careful and consistent.

That single question decided the structure. The differentiator was already there in how he works and had not been said out loud: one sitter, never a rotating roster, never a stranger with your key.

Build

A site that leads with Matt himself, carries the credentials that make trust reasonable — insured, background-checked, pet first-aid certified — and ends every section at the same free meet and greet.

Three services described in the terms a pet owner uses: drop-in visits, dog walking, and overnights in the customer’s own home.

The homepage opens on a scroll-driven stop-motion sequence of people holding the animals they love, drawn in portrait and built mobile-first for somebody making last-minute plans on a phone. Further down, real clients speak beside photographs of the pets they are describing.

Static site build, custom brand and design, original copy, AI-generated image assets, and a scroll-driven frame sequence on the homepage. SEO, AEO and GEO were part of the build, including LocalBusiness structured data covering the services and the service area. The code, content, domain and hosting account belong to the business.

Result

No measured results yet. The site launched recently, and there is no booking figure that could be attributed with a straight face. We publish numbers when there is something countable to publish.

Client feedback

“With very little direction Josh was able to take a jumble of my ideas and needs and turn it into a well functioning and cohesive online platform that looks great, makes sense, and is easy to use. Thank you so much, Red Robot AI and thank you, Josh!”

Current status

The site is live. This page will carry numbers when there are numbers worth carrying.

Lesson

For a trade that depends on trust, the site’s first job is to answer who is coming into my home — and the differentiator was already there in how he works. It only needed saying.
